Quaid-e-Azam university faces increasing Islamic trend

Islamabad: Teachers at Quaid-e-Azam university feels disturbed when students leave the class and go to offer prayer. Reports on some websites claim that students have a break of 15 minutes for prayer but some of them come after 3o minutes and few students don’t like to come after the prayer break.

Zee News, Newsweek Pakistan, News Tribe and Jakarta Globe has reported the news of Quaid e Azam university Islamabad. These all news agencies report that QAU authorities are afraid of the increasing trend of students who leave the classes during the prayer time.

It is worth mentioning that QAU offers 15 minutes of prayer break. When thsi ahppens, teacher has to wait for the class to come back and restart his lecture from the point where he left.

“At Quaid-i-Azam University there are four mosques, but still no bookshop,” says Pervez Hoodbhoy, who is renowned scientist and teaches at QAU.

“There are far fewer students today who can sing and dance, recite poetry, or who read novels than 20 years ago,” Hoodbhoy told AFP.

Newsweek quotes a girl named Hifza Aftab’s statement:

I am a hijab-wearing MBA student and every girl who comes to this university will soon adopt to hijab as she will become notorious by having loose dupatta. A liberal girl would get notorious throughout the whole university.
