Russia lifts prohibition on weapons supply to Pakistan

Moscow: Russian government has uplifted embargo from supplies of weapons and other army commodities to Pakistan. Pakistan will purchase Mi-35 and Mi-26 from Russian state-owned technology corporation Rostec.

According to Russian’s government website, head of weapons manufacturer and other military commodities company Mr. Sergey Chemezov said in his press release that Russian is going to lift ban on weapons sales to Pakistan.

After lifts the ban, Pakistan is showing interest to purchase Mi-26army helicopter from Russia. Negotiating is going on between Russian and Pakistan for purchasing a number of Mi-35.

According to source, this agreement between Pakistan and Russia could create tension between India and Russia. Russia is the second beigest country of the world after USA in supplying weapons to the world. Moscow has target to sale weapons worth of $700 billion before 2020.
