Smriti Irani suspend five non-teaching Delhi University staff

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) suspended five officials for leaking documents related to education qualification of Human Resource Development “Education Minister” Smriti Irani.

DU took the action after leaked the documents. The newspaper of India had written that Irani had taken admission in DU, but had not appeared for her examination.

Irani is in the center of a controversy due to her educational qualifications that has led to a war of words between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Congress leaders have said that Irani in her affidavit, she was contesting the 2004 Lok Sabha election and she mentioned her qualification as Bachelor of Arts (BA) which she passed in 1996 from Delhi University.

But in her affidavit for this year’s Lok Sabha election, the actor -turned-politician mentioned her educational qualification as “Bachelor of Commerce Part I” from Delhi University.

Congress leader also hit out at the authorities for suspending five non-teaching staff for leaking documents relating to Iran’s undergraduate admission.
